What do I need to get started?
Your CV as a PDF. Hakuu reads it once into a structured profile — roles, dates, projects, skills, even the links hidden behind anchor text — and every application after that starts from it.
Does it write for me, or with me?
With you. Hakuu drafts; you decide. Nothing is sent anywhere on your behalf, no application is submitted automatically, and every document stays editable until you download it.
Can I change something after it generates?
Two ways. Edit the document directly and watch the preview update, or ask for a revision in plain words — "shorten the summary", "lead with the fintech work" — and let Hakuu rework it.
What stops it from inventing things?
Your parsed CV is the only source for your experience. Hakuu chooses what to emphasise for a role and how to phrase it; it doesn't add jobs, dates, or skills you never gave it. You also get a plain list of what changed against your original.
What is the background story for?
A short note in your own words about where you're heading and why — the context a CV has no room for. A career break, a deliberate change of field, what you actually want next. It informs every application without ever appearing verbatim.
Where does my CV live?
Stored privately against your account so it can be reused, and replaced whenever you upload a new one. It isn't shared with anyone or sold. You can view the original PDF and everything Hakuu read from it at any time.
Is my CV used to train AI models?
No. Hakuu runs on private cloud infrastructure rather than public AI APIs, so nothing you upload or generate is ever used as training data. Your CV is processed to write your application and for nothing else.
When can I use it?
